At this year’s Retirement Reception, Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) proudly honored three extraordinary individuals whose years of dedicated service have shaped the lives of countless students and families. Celebrated under the theme “The Next Chapter Begins—Writing a New Chapter,” the event provided an opportunity to reflect on the stories these retirees have written—and the exciting chapters ahead.

Superintendent Dr. Leisa Winston opened the ceremony by reflecting on the profound impact each retiree has had: “Like authors crafting impactful narratives, each retiree here today has carefully written their own unique story through years of dedicated service, passion, and profound impact on students, families, and our broader community,” she shared. “You have laid a strong foundation for future chapters in our District’s story, and your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.”

Board President Diana Marks joined fellow Board members in expressing appreciation for the retirees' commitment and lasting influence. The ceremony offered personal tributes, joyful memories, and a shared sense of pride in the journey ahead.
